fEARnoMUSIC presents “Every Day Is The Same Day”: Corey Dargel and Cornelius Dufallo live in concert”

As the finale to our 24th concert season in the Portland area, fEARnoMUSIC will present renowned composer/vocalist Corey Dargel and composer/violinist Cornelius Dufallo in performace, including the Portland debut of Dargel’s song cycle “Every Day Is The Same Day.”

A former member of such influential ensembles as ETHEL and The Flux Quartet, Cornelius Dufallo is both a Juilliard-trained violinist recognized internationally for his groundbreaking work as a performer and composer, and also a licensed social worker, practicing as a psychotherapist in New York City. Dufallo will begin the concert with music for solo violin and for violin with electronics by John Luther Adams, Anna Clyne, Rob Deemer, Kinan Azmeh, as well as his own compositions, including a string ensemble work to be performed with very special guests, The Metropolitan Youth Symphony MYSfits ensemble.

Dufallo will then join Corey Dargel for the Portland premiere of Dargel’s song cycle “Every Day Is The Same Day,” for voice and violin with electronics. Called “The prince of postclassical song” and “one of contemporary music’s brightest lights” by TimeOut magazine, Dargel writes and performs exquisitely crafted music that defies categorization but connects with audiences of all experiences on an emotional level. This unique, 30-minute work deals with the subjects of love and clinical depression in a candid, humorous, bittersweet, and ultimately moving way.
